I got exactly the same problem...

had this before with the normal minecraft launcher, thats why i changed to technic launcher... but after the new update the same happens

(i use technic launcher to log on vanilla)

I'd appreciate it if anybody has found a solution

Already tried:

- Reinstalling java7 (deleting all other versions in config screen)

- installing java6

Dito, this is insanely annoying, it doesn't work on my desk but it does in my crappy laptop.

May be something past launchers did? because my lap never had Minecraft.

@Cota, same here

works on my brother's pc or even my mam's pc.. not on mine

My guess would be java.. but i tried java6 and java7 and got even both updates on my pc right now.

i have netframework 4.0+, dont know if there are any other progs the launcher uses...

In my case there was no change before the issue, only the launcher update, don't think it was the framework, Visual Studio keeps those updated and there was no update before the issue.

Edit: Spended all evening trying to fix this, removed all java entries and reinstalled, changed directories, tried to run Vanilla launcher minecraft and it didn't work either, at this point its only boring and frustrating and shame to my family, wheres that Tanto...

You need to download the old java at this link http://www.oldapps.com/java.php?old_java=17

Jesus of Nazareth son of a fucking whore this is getting really annoying, is this even a Java problem?, at least a "yes we are aware of that" would be nice...

Dunno if it's a java problem.. was just a guess

but i've tried java6, 7 and that java5 Tinyman suggested, and neither of them worked

And it's getting pretty annoying, yes :l

Wish they'd just kept the old launcher... no problems at all

Okay, sorry that i'm going to double post.. but it's to update the topic since i fixed it :P

I fixed it in some way.. or well, i found a way to play mc again :)

I still had the folder of the older launcher, and made it work with the 1.5.2 update (for vanilla)

I guess it will work for other mods too.

How i did it:

Download this Cache folder: http://www.mediafire.com/?6zf6f55b54z9maq (uploaded by Justux1488 in topic http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/launcher-update-failed.41052/)

and replace it with your current Cache folder inside .Techniclaucher (in appdata)

After this point it will depend on the mod u use... i use vanilla, so i downloaded the minecraft.jar for 1.5.2 update and pasted it into bin folder

and pasted it into the cache folder (has to be named minecraft_1.5.2 there)

You do need java7 for this to work.

Enjoy.. hope it works

(i would upload my folder, but its aprox 700mb in size... can't upload that much anywhere for free)
