Having problems with Java 7 and disabling MD5

I am having problems with disabling MD5 so i can use the new lwjgl. On the spout wiki post it says "To use newer LWJGL builds with Spoutcraft, you'd need to check the "Disable MD5" option, which can be found under the launcher's options (gear/cog icon)." But the problem is i can't get on the launcher because of the java 7 thing. is there a way to do this manually. Also it says "If you don't want to uninstall Java 7, you can try this by copying the below code into a text file, and saving it as a .sh or .command where Spoutcraft.jar is located." Where is sputcraft.jar and how would i get to it. thanks for any help as i have not been able to play technic/tekkit (etc.) for a while
