Problems with setting up a server. Need a little help.

Hello,

I downloaded and extracted the Tekkit server 1.0.6 on my windows 8 platform. I have java installed and all that good stuff. But, when i try to launch the server i get an error in command prompt "Java is not recognized as an internal or external command" Im kind of stuck at this point, and do not know what to do. If someone could try and give me a solution to this problem, that would be great.

You need to: 1) restart after installing Java, 2) direct a batch file to run the .jar version of the launcher off wherever you put Java, OR 3) add Java to your Windows system path. I'll leave it up to you to decide which is easier.
