After quarrying out a large amount of terrain, I have encountered 2 blocks which at first appeared to be bedrock, but generated on top of the usual flat layer. These replace air directly above them with water source, and continue this behavior if placed. I have seen no mention of them anywhere, and they are strange enough for me to consider them a bug. The water will only appear with a block update, and will not flow until another block update has occurred.
