launcher bug

when i start the techniclauncher.exe it only sais "checking launcher version" and then closes.

i know it is a well known bug but i updated java and reinstalled both the 32 and 64 bits version.

i also downgraded java to a version i knew should work because my friend with a 64 bits windows also has tekkit running.

if you guys know anything i could try i would really appreciate it.

PS: cant open the jar file because it will automatically be opened by 7zip

I had this problem here is how I fixed it:

Open "Run" type in %appdata%

Then find the folder named ".TechnicLauncher" Click it

Then you will find a file named "Technic-launcher" it will be a .jar file

Now run that and that should work if it doesnt then i dont know.
