Current Launcher installing out of date Minecraft 1.5.1 for 1.5.2

Launcher Version: 253

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit

Java Version: Java SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)

Antivirus Program: MS Security Essentials

Description of Problem:

Launcher is pulling Minecraft 1.5.1 from aws during client install. Resulting client is not compatible with the 1.5.2 server install. Pulled fresh client today. Tried with Linux Jar file as well as windows exe.

From the Log file:

Please let me know if I have this wrong.

I think that there is a mismatch in versions between the current available server(s) and the current Tekkit client.

The server is 1.5.2 and the client is 1.5.1 (see above).

The client install is pulling 1.5.1 from Amazon Web Services and the Server is prebuilt with 1.5.2.

The result is you can't connect to the server with the client (build 253).

I've been looking in the jar files for the launcher without decompiling them and it looks like the call is made in

TechnicLauncherorgspoutcraftlauncherrestRestAPI.class or at least parts of the URL are crafted there:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/<local variable>.jar

I haven't found a reference to where the version is picked up, or the local variable is defined (which should evaluate to "1.5.1/1.5.1" if I am right).

The version is referenced earlier in: TechnicLauncherorgspoutcraftlauncherUpdateThread.class as a variable.

I checked and https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.5.2/1.5.2.jar works in firefox and IE drops in 1.5.2.zip.

Is my only other option to download all the mods separately and try to get them to work myself?

Dang nabbit! The problem is using the Tekkit Space launcher (1.5.1) to play on the Hexxit server (1.5.2). *facepalm*

Interrupted by an overly enthusiastic kid that "wants to play now" and "please make it work" while I am reading how I missed something basic, chased my tail, and wasted your time.

I certainly understand a lot more about how it iss all put together now. I don't know how you close/discard threads but this one needs retired one way or another to avoid causing confusion.
