Need help tekkit keeps crashing on my windows 8 :(

I meet all the requirements. I have a windows xp and it works just fine! Pls help me on my windows 8 hd pls i just don't want to deal with the laggy shat.

if you have 4gigs of ram you will need 2 more to run efficiently.

windows 8 uses about 580mb of ram to run.

I need help to I have 8 gigs but after ten min of playing it crashes saying out of memory but as I said I have 8 gigs of ram and it wont let me dedicate more than 768mb please help!?
