How do you create Bowstring?

I have tried all the possible ways I could think of. I even looked for it on the ol' interweb with no success. I would love to try out the short bow. Any suggestions?

Anyone else have a better answer? tossing randomly 3 "bits" of spider string and the pattern in the part builder results in fail.

You have to use the second row of the Part Builder. Put your 3 strings in the box that looks like an outline of an ore block (instead of an ore ingot), with the bowstring pattern to the left of it.

It took me a while to figure that out myself.
