Tekkit Server Cannot Use More The 1GB RAM

Hello! i upgraded a old 32 bit PC. i had put 4GB RAM in it i had laying around. The problem is i cant allocate more then 1 to Java, here is the error im getting:

C:\Tekkit>java -Xmx1G -Xmx3G -jar Tekkit.jar -o true

Error occurred during initialization of VM

Could not reserve enough space for object heap

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.

Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

C:\Tekkit>PAUSE

im using x86 Windows 7 Ultimate. With the latest Java update.

That only happens if you are running on a 64 bit operating system, and you are using a 32 bit version of java... you just need to update your java to a 64 bit java. hoped this helped.
