server crash when people join!

Question

Posted

Hello, me and some friends have been playing on my server for some days now i think 1 week, it crashed one day, and i could'nt get it up, though i solve it with install a EE fix, so that you can connect pipes to EE stuff.

But yesterday it complettly screw us, as fast as someone logs on it crashes and is down for a while, i tryed to restart server computer, tryed to cold it down, i tryed to open another port, i even tryed to restart internet, when i restarted internet it worked for like 10 min then shut down!

Today i tryed to reinstall tekkit, still not worked, though i put the EE fix in, but i guess EE fix should'nt do this!

I get no error report, only that they log off!

For like 1 min ago, i tryed to restart the world, i made a backup first, and now it works but i spend 1 week on this map, i know its not much, but it was legit and it was almost my first time to play it so i was really happy of what i did so i dont wanna lose that world for ever :(!

I beg someone, please lemme know some tips or solves how i maybe can fix this!

So, no errors show in the logs of the server? How about on the client side?

I don't quite understand what you are saying, does the server crash or do the players just disconnect but the server still runs? Perhaps some of both?

What was happening in the world when the server started crashing?

for client it was difrent errors, and i think its normal errors, like when you try to log on a server that is crashed or shut down, and i dont got any errors i might can get one later, but dont know really if it will help, cuz i seen the errors before when i try to connect to a server that just crashed!

Personally, if you listed the errors as completely as possible it would help me with identifying the cause of your crashes.

I would like a little more clarification on two points though. Does the server crash, the client, or both? Please clearly indicate which one for me, as I am still uncertain if your server keeps running or if it crashes.

The other thing is, you said you installed the fix for placing Buildcraft pipes next to EE items, do you still have Buildcraft pipes next to EE items? I am concerned that the fix may not be working correctly for you.

Would you mind providing a link to where you got the fix? I remember reading about a fix on the forums here but last I read obsidian pipes still caused crashes.

I just thought of one last thing that may be causing this, have any of your players left machinery like a quarry or a cobblestone generator running?

I know that in my testing in the past I found that many machines did not work even though a chunk was force loaded by a chunk loading block. A particular problem was a cobblestone generator connected to an energy condenser.

The energy condenser acted as a chest after everyone logged off and after it was full, the blocks would be dropped on top of it. This resulted in overflow errors on the client side.

Recyclers from Industrialcraft 2 also do this after everyone has logged off.

Without you telling me the exact errors you and your players are seeing I cannot provide better help. All I am doing at this point is guessing.

Okej, i will try start server again, and get some errors!

Server is frozening when it crash, and after awhile it pop up in console that some ips is could not connect (probly when they refresh)!

For client, as i get reports from my friends, they say that when they try connect, their clients is frozen for like 1 min or so then they get a error and cant be able to log in!

Here's a better fix. This allows the successful use of wooden pipes with EE, and should fix your crashed worlds.

To use:

replace "[3]EE2ServerV1.38-bukkit-cb1938.zip" in the /mods folder with this one:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8864416/%5B3%5DEE2ServerV1.38-bukkit-cb1938.zip

If you're using the previous condenserpipefix plugin, delete it.

there is the link for the fix!

And its quarrys going, i think i got around 7-8 at my place, but i put a chunkloader to them and then i setup a pipe system going from all of them, when i was on last time eveything worked fine!

Hopefully i can get some errors, if you stay here i will get them!

Internal exception: Java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

Then a bunch of End of stream!

And when trying to refresh, i just get cant reach server, or communication error!

After like 2-3 min or so, i finally could reach server, when refresh!

And then it only says "Logging in..." first time, directly after started, i got to "downloading content" and then it froze there now just logging in...!

so i stopped server, took me about 2 min to get "Console: Stopping the server..." and then it took 4-5 to stop server fully!

Here is a pastebin of the log: http://pastebin.com/zcKUkmVa

Sorry for not responding, I have class Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays this term so I don't have much time on those days for anything but school. I also had the fan go out in my power supply so I couldn't use my computer for a couple days.

I noticed that you had the following message and five other similar ones in your log.

[buildCraft] Warning: Quarry at -2340,63,-104 has no saved world, using default.

I was unable to find anything about this error but I do not have much time right now to look. I may not be able to help you resolve this problem, as I have not encountered this before and my research is not turning up any useful information.

I do have an idea, it may not fix the problem though.

Be sure to make backups of your worlds and configs before you try these steps.

1. Rename your world files to "world", "world_nether", and "world_the_end"

For clarity; if your world is named "bobtown", you will see three folders, "bobtown", "bobtown_nether", and "bobtown_the_end".

In this case, replace "bobtown" with "world" in the name of each folder.

2. Edit your server's config file. Change "level-name=<nameOfYourWorld>" to "level-name=world"

My thinking with this is that perhaps something went wrong in your world's save and it is messing up the quarries you have. They must need to do something special with the world save. I am only guessing that "using default" means "world", which is the default name for a Minecraft world.

I may have time later this week to do some more research on your problem but I am not sure.

I would recommend looking your error messages up on Google, that is what I am doing to try and help you at this point and you may find something I have missed.
