Offline Mode/Not Loading Worlds

Question

Posted

Launcher Version: 253

Operating System: Mac OS X v.10.6.8 MacBook

Java Version: Java SE 6

Antivirus Program: None

Description of Problem:

When I open up the launcher and put in my username and password, it asks if I want to play in offline mode. I have to pick yes to play, otherwise it will not let me play. Once I get in, I select to play singleplayer, since I don't really play multiplayer when I'm on tekkit. When I startup a world, it will start loading then it will just sit there and do nothing. I literally left my computer on all night and woke up in the morning to see if it would load. NOTHING. What's going on? Is it because I was in offline mode? Please help me!

(btw I didn't know if I should put this bug in the launcher forums or the modpack forums because the offline mode goes with all modpacks but the world not loading only comes from tekkit modpack)

I have fixed the not loading worlds problem!

If your minecraft worlds won't load, do what I did:

Step 1: Open your tekkit launcher

Step 2: Go to the gear next to the exit button in the top right corner

Step 3: Check the box that says "Increase PermGen Size"

Step 4: Click "Save"

Step 5: If it asks you to restart your launcher to apply the settings, press "Yes"

Step 6: Wait for tekkit to restart and voila!

If that doesn't work, make sure you are on tekkit 1.1.8. You can check if you are by going to the gear next to the exit button in the top right corner and select the dot next to "Always use Beta Launcher builds". That may help your situation as well! If that doesn't work then I have nothing for you. Sorry :(

Now all I need to do is find out why I can only play in Offline Mode...
