LAG??? Help!!!

I love tekkit and games like that and, when I tried to play Big Dig it logged me in... I created a world, which took AGES to load... Then LAGGGGGG! I cant play! Ive tried to play on different settings but it doesnt work! Please help! If anyone knows how to fix this please reply to this post thx! Ender
