Tried changing launcher to beta build and now it wont start

Description of Problem:

I tried joining a server and it said I needed an older version of minecraft. I tried changing the launcher to run beta build only to see if that would fix it. It said it needed a manual restart and closed out. When I tried opening it again it shows a loading bar under the Technic logo and closes out when it finishes. I've tried re-installing, restarting my computer, and installing linux instead of windows.

Possible Fix

Open the .technic folder (Located C:Documents and Settings<USERNAME>AppDataRoaming.technic or %Appdata%.technic) and delete the file Temp.exe. Then retry the TechnicLauncher and should work.

Found a solution. go to %Appdata%\.technic\ and delete all files named settings and the temp.exe. Worked for me. Thank you Foxtrot_Oscar for the tip .
