Mod packs do not download.

Question

Posted

Launcher Version: 293

Operating System: Windows 7

Java Version: Version 7, Update 45

Antivirus Program: Avaast

Description of Problem:

I'm attempting to launch the Tekkit modpack however when the download reaches the fml_libs15 file the download crashes and fails anywhere between 0% and 28%. From my research on other sources a possible cause may the firewalls and anti virus software. I have disabled these, however this did not work and the problem persists.

I am a god damn genius.

Here is how I fixed it; I found that the reason for the download was an incomplete .zip file, for some reason the actual files were missing in the download. So first I restored the file from a point where it still worked, that worked however it was failing on the next set of downloads. So I copied the 'cache' folder in the 'Tekkitmain' folder from a friends working version and this solved the problem. The only issue was an error message saying 'A fatal error has occurred with minecraft and FML' this was solved by resetting the pack and launching again.
