Installing Factions with Tekkit

Hello! I am running a Tekkit Classic server, running 1.2.5 and so far everything has been running all fine. I have essentials running with several other plugins working just fine, but would like to add Factions to the server. So, I went ahead and looked up the correct version and installed 1.6.8. However on server, the factions plugin doesn't seem to work. It shows up in the help page, atleast /factions does, however when anyone or myself type that command nothing shows up. Anyone know how to fix it?

Which config files exactly? For some reason there's no config file in the factions folder, just the following: board.json, factions.json, players.json and tags.json
