Since many people host their pack via dropbox, the download will "break" if there is too much traffic.

Dropbox automatically shuts down your account after a certain number of downloads.

To figure out if the pack in question is using dropbox, copy the URL that would go in the technic launcher.

Then paste it into a web browser

It will show a bunch of code.

If they are using dropbox, it will have "http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/" somewhere in the code.
