How to update a Tekkit server with same world

The title explains what i'd like to figure out. I want to update the server but use the same world how do i do this?

Find "MiDaS gold" and use that on your world. BACKUP YOUR WORLD.

I'm gonna go a head and assume you mean you want to update the software side of it?

in that case.

Step 1. Back up your entire minecraft folder

Step 2. Make a new minecraft folder and put the new tekkit server files inside that.

Step 3. Copy your world, world_nether, world_end folders from the original minecraft into the new folder that you've just made with the new tekkit.jar

Step 4. Start the new tekkit.jar

Attempt to connect, if that fails atleast you still have your backup.

If that fails. maybe you will need to convert your world.

mIDas gold (an upgrade to the old mIDas) is a world converter for tekkit worlds. I used it to update my server world. It replaces all the old ids in the world with their respective new ids.
