Issues with Advanced Genetics

I apologize if this isn't the right place for this, but after messing around on the mod pack, I've noticed that the recipe for Tinkers' Construct's Stone Tool Rod and Advanced Genetics' Stone Sticks share the same recipe.  This issue can be fixed by chiseling the cobblestone to force the game to give you Stone Sticks instead, but it took a lot of figuring out.  The main issue I have is that the microscope from Advanced Genetics works fine in single player, but when I attempt to use it on my server, it crashes me.

Is this an issue with the modpack, or does the issue lie elsewhere?
