old technic launcher for windows

Hi,

I'm confused on how to solve this. I run a small hexxit server on my linux machine. The Technic launcher for linux runs minecraft 1.5 and i can connect to the server no problems. 

I also want to connect from a windows machine, the windows version of the launcher runs minecraft 1.6.4 and won't connect. I'd happily downgrade the windows version of the launcher but that doesn't seem to be an option.

Can anyone give me any advice please.
