tekkit server external connection issue

Launcher/pack Version: tekkit v2.0

Operating System: windows 7 64bit

Version of Java: v7 64 bit

Description of Problem: the server will kick me and my friends after several hours of use, and then state it can not reach server, but i am able to local host connect to it myself. I've tried rebooting the server and it still states cant reach server. i am port forwarding and not using hamachi. i would put the log in but when rebooting my comp and restarting the server I'm guessing it overwrote it because I've gone through the logs and there not the right ones. i apologize. i didn't see a post like this and I'm hoping i didn't miss it thank you very much for any input

i talked to a friend and downloaded simple port forwarding to test and it was not forwarding as it should. i was able to correct the error. still don't understand how it went from working fine to not at all.
