PLEASE help, downgrading to 1.1.4 to play SMP.

I recently found out about techinic pack from a friend, and all I have to say, is it is amazing! But, Technic 2.0 isnt compatible with the current server client on 1.1. I tried redownloading the 1.1.4 installer. I still get the "outdated server" message on servers running technic server 1.1.4, and Not Enough Items is broken, as i cant change modes or spawn items in. I tried editing the NE.cfg, and it worked, then broke again. Can anyone point me in the right direction to both downgrading to 1.14 or whatever client will allow me to join the current technic pack servers? Thanks in advance!

But you will still need a 1.0 version of Minecraft or use a rollback program on 1.1
