I'm currently trying to connect to minecraft via a VPN (Astril), since I live in China. I cannot access minecraft.net with my VPN turned off, but I can when I have it turned on. What's strange is that while I've been able to play on a friend's server many times before, as of late it's been rejecting my connection. I can see the server status, and see that there are people on there, but I won't connect. I suspect the Great Firewall.
So I was wondering if there was any way to run the Technic Launcher through a VPN like Astrill? If I have my VPN on when I start up the Technic Launcher, the launcher can't connect to minecraft.net, and says the Tumblr feed is down. However, when I turn off the VPN, the launcher works fine.
Also, could this just be due to a slow connection? It seems weird that the server was working fine for me a few days ago, and now it just doesn't work at all.
I wasn't sure where to make this topic. I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong board. Any assistance you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated?
