Tekkit 3.0.4 - BUG: Advanced Machines not recieving redstone power correctly

Question

Posted

Launcher/pack Version: Tekkit Server 3.0.4, using Launcher 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Kubuntu Linux 12.04 (both serving and for the client), also a client on Windows 7 noticing same

Version of Java: jre1.7.0_04

Description of Problem:

On setting up the advanced machines (Rotary Macerator, Induction Furnace, Singularity Compressor, Centrifuge Extractor) I have all the machines wired in to Low Voltage (MFSU -> MV transformer -> LV Transformer -> standard copper/rubber cables -> Machines). At first I ran Redwire along the bottom of the machines to a lever, but noticed that even though the wire remained powered, the machines would 'spin up' (i.e. gain heat, pressure, rpms, whatnot) for a short time, then begin to spin back down. I thought perhaps switching over to using redstone torches directly underneath them might fix the issue, however they exhibit the same behaviour. I'm not sure if it's a bug with redstone or with the IC Advanced machines themselves as I don't see anything in the logs, no error output or anything...it just doesn't work like it's supposed to (unless the behaviour for these machines have changed when RS signal is applied and I'm not aware).

Edited to add: Upon further inspection, once they stop 'spinning up' and lose heat/rpms/pressure they cease to function altogether.

Second Edit: Playing with it further, I removed the LV transformer and wired the machines directly from the MV transformer with Fibre Cable and they appear to be working correctly now (receiving both electricity & redstone signal). I can only assume that this behaviour is intentional and may not actually represent a bug, but a change in setup. I'll leave this up with the permission of the board Mods as an informative post.

Error Messages: None

Link to pastebin of log: No Log to paste

Thank you for your time and work on this matter.

Hello,

I'm experiencing the same thing currently. Did you find a fix? My set up goes from 5 mv solar arrays through glass cable to an MFSU. This then goes directly through a mv transformer block, into glass cables which connect into a row of four advanced machines. Each machine has a redstone torch placed under it, and begins to power for several rpm's etc until about a fifth of its capacity, then begins to power down again.

Any idea what's causing this?
