  1. For me it's not about nagging, because I don't really care that much if someone spells things right or not, but starting and finishing sentences in a distinctive an clear way, makes it easier for us to read and help the person with a problem. I really want to help, even though I don't know a lot about all these mods yet. I know it can be difficult on a new forum because there is so much you don't know and you might miss sticky topics about rules and things like that and might not notice several other topics about the same problem you have. Often I have those same problems, so I won't put people down over that. It's just that putting in a little effort makes it easier for all of us, the ones who need help and the ones who will help. So, no need to bash anyone, just be helpful. My previous post was just do demonstrate how much easier to read it would be. I hope that the one who started this post will come back soon to explain more clearly what the problem is so we can help !!!
  2. There is another topic about this already, it's in this forum. See if you can find it, because some possible causes are already listed in that topic. I have the same problem you have. I have OSX 10.5.8 and can't launch the launcher either. When I double click the .zip file it decompresses and when I click the launcher icon I only get an error message. When I double click the .jar file I also get an error message, but a different one. Either way, pretty much nothing happens. Also, there isn't a Technic Launcher file folder anywhere to be found on my macbook. It might be that you need a never OSX version, it might be the case for me anyway.
  3. That may be, but isn't it simple and easy to use capitalised letters when you start a sentence? I see you know how the caps button works since you use it when you type things like TMI, so I'm assuming you can also type "I" instead of "i". I'm not trying to be bitchy here, but using capitalised letters, and also a . to finish a sentence, so we know when a new sentence begins, will make your bug report a lot easier to read, so we can focus on your problem instead of your spelling. We really DO want to help, but since we put in an effort to help you, we also expect you to put in a little bit of effort if you want us to help you. For example: this is an annoying piece of text because it has no capitalised letters i know this is annoying so do you and he she and everyone else i need help i have a problem can you help me solve it and fix it the problem is this is it because of that i need to know or This is an annoying piece of text, because it has no capitalised letters. I know this is annoying and so do you, he/she and everyone else. I need help because I have a problem. Can you please help me solve it and fix the problem? Is it because of...? I really need to know. Which text would be easier to read and would make us more inclined to help you? Take a guess....and yes it's text number 2!!! If I'm correct, is your problem that you know how to craft things, and that you craft the items in the correct way, but the items aren't crafted nevertheless? As in you craft the way you should, but it isn't working? And in creative mode you can see items like tools, to work with, but none of the blocks? Is this correct? Btw, this is also the wrong forum to post in.
  4. I downloaded the technic launcher from the link you provided. And when I double click on the jar file I get the error message that the launcher could not be launched and that I should check the console for possible error messages.
  5. I have looked at the java links you suggested, yesterday. But I couldn't really find my way there. There are a lot of links there, so I just searched on the web instead. Can you tell me what version of java I need? I don't have the most recent OSX version though, I have 10.5.8 .
  6. Sadly, it did not work . The same problems still apply. Btw, I do have java and I think it's the newest version available fro mac, 1.6 I think. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix this? EDIT: I think I have Java 6. It's difficult to find out, since I can't just start Java or found info about it very easily, but I can start Java Preferences and it says I have Java 6. Though when I look at the software updates on my mac, it says that my most recent updated version is 1 and yesterday I downloaded 1.6 from the internet an installed that. I'm thinking that 6 is the actual version and 1 and 1.6 are versions of the updates, am I right here? Oh, and I don't have an anti-virus program like norton or anything like that. just whatever comes standard on my macbook. I would really like to be able to use Technic Launcher because it interests me very much. Sorry for all the noob questions btw, I am not a very technical person, that's why I got a mac in the first place . It usually works like a dream, but when I try to do something not so ordinary it gets difficult sometimes.
  7. Thank you very much for your reply ! I will download the launcher right now.
  8. I have the same problem. I have a macbook with OSX 10.5.8. I downloaded the osx launcher, then clicked on it to unzip it and got the Technic_Launcher with the icon. When I double click on it nothing happens for about 5 seconds and the I get a small window with the text: The action “Run AppleScript” encountered an error. Check the action's properties and try running the workflow again. Also, I went to my Library Folder and then to the Application Support Folder and then there should be a Technik Launcher Folder, but it isn't there or anywhere else on my computer. I have no idea what this means and I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help us? If you need any additional information, just ask.
