  1. The iron pipes that reset are caused when they receive a redstone current, it has happened before, that can cause your items to either end up in an endless loop or fall to the ground depending on your setup. As the post above stated, try to use the chunk loader blocks to alleviate the issues of blocks falling out of pipes due to no player being withing range of the chunks that need to be loaded.
  2. It is definitely not the issue, have played our server with multiple setting of ram but always the same result. To add onto what Bigjay has said, we are running Dynmap alongside tekkit. When looking at the dynmap for our server the time advances then backtracks a few seconds at a time, and then continues forward again. It would seem something is causing enough lag to cause a small loop. We are currently going thru the process of turning mods on and off to isolate which one is the major cause. We will post an update for the Tekkit guys when we have isolated it.
