When I played tekkit I was on normal rendering distance, and when the lag kicked in I changed to short but nothing happened. However, when I started the game in short render distance I had no major problems and no lags spikes (although the delay when opening interfaces was still there). I dont know how to fix that yet

Description of Problem:
When i attempt to open any interface (except the esc key menu), there is a 1-second delay before it fully opens. Also, when typing in the NEI Search Bar,it is really slow; the letters appear several seconds after i pressed them on the keyboard. I have tried disabling the NEI interface to no avail.
Please help.

When I try to open chests, my inventory, a crafting table, project table, or anything with some sort of interface (except the menu (esc button)) there is a 1-or 2-second delay before it actually opens. I've tried hiding and disabling NEI but that doesn't help. Any suggestions?

You may need to upgrade your graphics drivers - it worked for me.

What it says is: Used memory: 80% (200mb) of 247mb
Allocated memory: 90% (250mb)

When you say installing OptiFine, do you getting a different OptiFine than the one that comes with the technic launcher?
Also, another weird thing just happened. I allocated 1536mb to tekkit, but in-game on the debug screen the memory was only 247mb. Any ideas about that?

(Single player btw)
When i load tekkit, everything is working fine for the first 2 - 3 minutes. After that, i get big lag spikes when i spin around and open any type of interface (except the interface that pops up when you press the esc key), and I get low fps in general after the first few minutes. However, the interface lag is still present even before the lag kicks in. The lag makes tekkit extremely unplayable I've tried lowering my graphics settings, increasing and decreasing memory allocation, and deleting the technic launcher. Please help.

Maybe it might just be your world. Have you tried creating a new one and seeing if that helps?

The reason the launcher is not giving you an option to allocate above 1536mb is because you have 32-bit java. If you have a 64-bit OS, you can install the 64-bit version of java, which lets you allocate over 1536mb. If you have a 32-bit OS however, this won't help.

Have you tried adding Java to the NVIDIA Control Panel and running tekkit with high performance? Also, maybe try allocating less memory to the technic launcher, it might help.

Yep, I've tried all of those things, except Advanced OpenGL On. I'm about to try that now.
EDIT: Advanced OpenGL On didn't work
BUT
I think I've found out something: I think my fps issues are coming from problems with rendering. However changing the render distance does not do much. Tiny does increase fps but lag spikes are still present when i turn around on the spot
