Restarting my client didn't help but when i restarted the server it worked fine, thank you.

I just started a server for me and a few of my friends, but whenever I login with localhost, it gives me the error: login faield: Bad login, and when me or one of my friends uses the external ip adress the connection times out. I have a vanilla server that runs fine so I've portforwarded correctly, and setup my java correctly so I'm not sure what I've done wrong. Help would be appricated.
