  1. This is very close to what I was thinking about... say, is it technically possible to do it now "manually", by tinckering with the files in /launcher folder, or there's some kind of technical limitation? I donĀ“t know... if I duplicate /launcher/vanilla to /launcher/terrafirma and then add the line in modpacks.yml, there's something missing? should it work?
  2. Ok, this relates somehow to a lot of other posts in the style of "OMG TECHNIC WHY U NO ADD TERRAFIRMACRAFT?" and similars. I'm a kind of user that likes to try mod combinations, moddify mod versions, tweaking, finding small "duct tape" mods that connect things and all that kind of stuff. I must have a docen of batch files prepared to open minecrafts and technic launchers on different %AppData%. It works, but it really feels a little out of control. This could be solved if we could create user defined mods. Not as something to redistribute, but for personal use. Is there any way to do it with the launcher right now, even if it's a little laborious? Someone has written somewhere how it can be done?
  3. This is an idea, as a suggestion for any map makers willing to give it a try, or a topic for everyone to discuss. A) let's start with a classic "complete the monument" map, like the super hostile series by vetch. some of the wool chests are protected by bosses or custom mobs from the better dungeons mod. C) caution is taken in the design to prevent from "cheating" in key areas with the use of buildcraft/redpower/IC2 equipment. D) after/before the monument is completed, some extra action must be taken related with BC/RP/IC equipment. Example A: the wool are key pieces of information in a research facility. The player must restore power in the facility by fixing some wiring, access key places, then recover the wool, then set the self destruction (conecting a machine that overloads a nuclear reactor). How's that for an starter? What do you say?
  4. Re: Modern city challenge Hmmm, interesting. I first understood this was some kind of map about a modern city that needed some misions to be made in order to make something. But this is good, too. How about some suggestions for the scoring? [li]Extra points for defence systems and fortress like security. This is Minecraft, after all, there are creepers and skeletons out there. I expect my city to keep me safe, at least up to a certain level.[/li] [li]Extra points for different power sources, specially renewable power sources. Think of an after the war scenario: your city may be the last known human emplacement. You can't afford to go back to stone age if you run out of uranium, lava or similar.[/li] [li]Extra points for renewable resources: (automated) tree farms? Building material generators? The least destruction of the ecosystem needed to create your city, the better.[/li] Good idea, bad idea, don't care? What do you think, people?
