Its a filter to take the items out of the chest.

But the part with the dots are the input, perhaps the texture pack makes it different to yours?

I have gone through and made sure that all the machines and tubes match what youve said. I will put some screen shots and hopefully you will see something I've done wrong. Also thanks so much for all this help.

I did like you suggested and moved the buffers to the other side of the sorters, then gave them a pulse but they still light up as being jamed.

Hello, today while on SMP with a friend I started making a sorting system, but the machines get jammed right when I place them down but before anything goes into them. Because noting goes in I assume I've done something wrong pipe wise, but I cant tell what. I really hope someone can help, thanks in advance.
