  1. I currently have a world on a server that has been playing Tekkit Lite on 0.6.1 for quite some time now, and I am interested in changing this to the new tekkit modpack.

I know they are very different and I may as well be converting tekkit classic to FTB in terms of mods, but apart from loosing items in the world, would there be any other issues?

Will the console be filled with errors? Unstable world? Or would it be fine just with gaps in inventories and walls where the missing items used to be?

Thanks for any/all help given :D

  2. Exa

So in other words you like items that destroy other people's buildings, cause map corruption, dupe any item you desire, or blow up the map? I guess if its a chaos themed map... wouldn't last long. If you own/admin a server you would know that you have to expect people to be evil and looking to abuse what they can.

Exactly. I run a tekkit lite server and have had to ban more items than I expected. Explosive items that bypass player claims, a couple of weapons that get past the no-pvp, and items like chunkloaders and void chests that bring the server down.

There's also at least one item I know of that duplicates items and that's been banned, and the auto-crafting table also as it crafts banned items.

Most players understand why these have to be removed. You can't please everyone, but its easier to slightly restrict some play to everyone, than to manually deal with everyone who's home gets destroyed.

  3. DISCLAIMER:this is in theory,i have not tested it myself yet.

i thought this out just now when rambling in the config files;just go to the config files, change the item id to that of an avalable unused i.d. and boom, you did it,good for you.(again i have not tested this yet and know nothing of plugin coding or mod coding but I assume it will work.

Hope none of the admins on servers you play on see this post...

  4. for all server owners wanting to ban items and blocks:

blacklist in worldguard works with bukkit forge 149 ,tekkit 0.5.5. (/server/plugins/worldguard/worlds, copy your finished blacklist to all worlds)

    Thank you so much!

I have needed something like this for so long. I lost so many buildings to the mining laser. Seriously, thank you!

  5. I'm so happy, i have successfully after 17hrs got voltz integrated into mcmyadmin, got BukkitForge integrated into that with you essentials port, plus through groupmanager i can simply control groups and permission nodes via mcmyadmins web gui which i am completely reliant on for perms,,, i couldn't get the port of permissionsEX to work with it though thus falling back to groupmanager via trial and error. After all that i then focused on my players demands for tekkit to be merged with voltz which after 4hrs i was able to do but it was sloppy copys not using the new custom zip option. However i am confident now that i can adapt the clients with custom mod zip. I am in the works now of making a vidoe i will post on youtube explaining to new people or the unknowledgeable how to do this. I did it all in linux, but if your serious about dedicated serving that shouldn't be a problem. I will post link to video when its complete. Thanks to the supporters of BukkitForge, you now have my support :)

This sounds really promising, I look forward tp the video!

  6. Doesn't seem like it this far.

Basically the most essential things left that doesn't work is chest protections along with left/right click recognition.

keepcalm is doing an awesome job this far and the progress on this short timespan is pretty amazing.

Give it some patience and follow the Jenkins for newer builds and it'll all work out eventually. :)

Completely agree, the amount of daily updates has been incredible. It's clear a lot of time and work is being put into this.

If only my server players understood haha.
