There is no evidence that has been posted indicating the Voltz modders were rude in any way to the FTB team. The only thing that has been stated in response to the accusations against FTB by Calclavia is "I was kidding, you guys suck I'm kicking you out."
Do you mind posting a source so I can see it?

This is the problem with that reasoning. It isn't all the modders. Modders that Edit: aren't deemed important enough are denied entry, and modders that dislike Slowpoke aren't there. The voltz/UE modders were very rudely and condescendingly denied access to that collaborative community, one of the reasons the recent drama came about. Those modders were extremely frustrated with their treatment.
Edit: I edited the above to correct myself. My choice of wording was poor and it came off like Forgecraft is specifically Slowpoke controlled. He has influence only. The point about forgecraft still stands however. It does not represent all modders, and not all modders are welcome.
There is a sudo class system that has been established that negatively effects newer modders, which is damaging to a modding communities growth.
Yes, your right, I did not see that point. Why don't I say the more major modders are there. Also, how do you know (I'm honestly asking how do you know) that that was just a one time thing? How do you know the EU guys weren't being rude first and only telling one side of the story?
Also, the EU modpack is still in the launcher, I don't know if that says anything or not. If I'm sounding extremely stubborn, let me know, as all I'm doing is trying to hear both sides.

Meh, I understand your point of view to an extent, but I personally feel it's the opposite. Slowpoke tore the divide in the community further apart to satisfy his need for publicity and to jump start FTB's popularity. He did so at a time when the drama was settling down and we were beginning to bridge things together and bury the hatchet with a lot of modders. There is more too it then "more options are better". He hasn't made MC a stronger community. He has further divided it.
Depends on how you look at it. When it comes to the modders, they all now hang out on forgecraft to discuss their mods and how they work together with each other. That side if left alone is fine by itself, and is happy talking about the recent changes to mods and modding. If you're talking about the fights between the technic/tekkit and FTB community, then yeah, totally falling apart at the hinges. I can't say I'm happy about the password leak either.

Sourpowerpete: one thing I'll need some help with on this is the download links. Basically, I'll start keeping a database (read: XML file) with mod names, versions, and direct download links, as a Google Document of some sort, open to the public for edits. My application will get its links from there.
I don't think you can blame me much when I say that I REALLY really really want to avoid making a modpack myself. I hope that's understandable for obvious reasons.

poryy, so in other words, a launcher that launches both packs?
I'm working on an awesome system, probably web based, where you pick and choose your mods from a web form and it downloads them and packages you a TechnicLauncher custom ZIP.
That sounds fairly amazing. I'll be waiting to see that.

Impossible. If you mix up all the mods from the two packs, then about 50% of people will not like how invasive GregTech is, or how mod X does Y to the world.
Most of the FTB players hated Gregtech, so you're definitely not alone. :)

I would avoid posting it on the minecraft forums.
There are many places you can put it up where (most) people won't accuse you of eating babbies for dinner with baby kittie on the side because of you choice of how to play a game but MC Forums is not one of those places.
But at the same time, I think you shoud post it there and link it to me so I can read the hilarious hate comments it will get because of a simple installation method.
Your choice, really.
Tekkit has this portion (or should I say chunk) of players who use the modpack, and just about everyone else stays as far away from it as possible.

Did you make sure it's placed on one of the corners of the marked out area? That should fix it. If not, then I don't know what the problem is.

I am absolutely, horribly exhausted right now, and I honestly don't feel like purposely going into an argument right now. Call me names, get bragging rights, you won, whatever. Maybe tomorrow we can have the debate, but real life happens. I don't feel like explaining what happened, but just take my word for it, I'm done for now.

You should actually just put the custom zip URL and instructions in the Magecraft topic along with the regular download just to see what will happen. A few FTB fanboys will probably start crying with their "FTB IS SO MUCH BETTER" bs, but there's still a very small percentage of intelligent people around there.
Like me? I play FTB way more than tekkit and I hate people who do that. Well hate is a strong word, maybe disrespect them.

I cannot believe that someone would go to that level. I hope that no one from technic does the same. As long as they don't get any ammo from us (as in we don't do something like that), we're the only ones with a loaded gun.
I would see why someone would do that, but that's not to say I would do that or even agree with what they did.

Tekkit fanboys hate FTB fanboys, and FTB fanboys hate Tekkit fanboys. That's why I'm neither, I just play the game and spit no hate. Also, we aren't toxic, but there are always stupid people on BOTH sides. I would say Tekkit fanboys are ignorant and FTB fanboys are aggressive.

Haven't you heard? The obvious course of action is to start preaching how illegal Technic is and that Technic players should switch to FTB or commit suicide! Obviously.
Oh wait, it's not. Thank god only 1 or 2 people actually do that and the rest just rolls their eyes.
I play way more FTB then tekkit and I probably treat the people who "preach" FTB much much worse than someone just asking about tekkit. No, I don't treat tekkiters bad either.

Sounds better then people coming here and asking "Why do you use tekkit?! FTB is better and not illegal." And that's probably the most mild example of the spectrum that I can think of.
Touche, they indeed do that. I prefer to stay on the FTB side, but that's not to say I won't use tekkit. I actually really enjoy the custom modpack feature of the launcher.

Even having the moral highground is trolling the FTB fanboys in of itself. We're never supposed to have that.
Not all of us our fanboys, we just get tired when someone comes into an FTB/Forgecraft/Modded Minecraft stream and ask, and I quote this, "Is this tekkit?" :/

look back to all of your applications and all the responses after that, If andrew did not specifically say yes, you are accepted, then you are pending. We only have 2 forums moderators, Andrews trying to sort out modpack problems, and I do not have the authority to accept, another thing that has kept us busy is the huge screw up with the forums, we are jumping through hoops to get that fixed. We appreciate your time spent, and hope you can be patient with us.
