  1. This is not the first time this question has been asked on these forums. It seems to be a bug in version 115 of IC2. Apparently it's just a client-side texture problem, and the machines still function as expected.
  2. I've experimented a bit with these and here's what I've found. First place an Energy Bridge. Then place next to it at least one energy consumer (to input energy of any kind) and at least one energy producer (to output energy of the desired type). Right click on the energy bridge to see what connections have been made and how much energy is currently in the system (bottom line, "% CHG"). I've found that the BuildCraft producer does output into wooden conductive pipes, it powers adjacent BC machines, and it also outputs into the new redstone energy conduits. The Universal Charger can also be placed adjacent to an Energy Bridge. It will automatically charge all IC2 items you have on you (including worn armor) when you stand on it. It also charges all items in a chest you place next to it.
  3. Also, in this latest version monazit and sulfur ore don't seem to spawn at all. Or at least I didn't find any during my search for copper and tin.
  4. Solved: Thanks for the reply! This solves everything. I had read somewhere that the heat generator wasn't finished yet and should not be used, but apparently it works. I also didn't know that redstone worked as a makeshift energy source.
  5. Thankfully, the latest version of the modpack fixes the lack of copper and tin ore in the world. Unfortunately, it's very unbalanced right now - copper is approximately twice as abundant as iron, while tin is almost ten times as rare (tested in several different worlds). This makes bronze, which already takes several steps (including smelting copper and tin into ingots, crafting the dust and then smelting it again), even more expensive (especially considering the other uses for tin). My suggestion would be to halve the amount of copper ore in the world, make tin about half as abundant as copper, and make the bronze dust recipe give two or three bronze dust instead of the one.
  6. Ah, ok. Thanks for the quick reply. I'd still prefer a way to start with electricity without having to do major treks through the nether to build a huge device from an unrelated mod. Does anyone know if this is a temporary situation? Is it possible to reenable the steel recipe? I've found the following line in my UniversalElectricity.cfg, but it obviously doesn't do a thing: B:"Allow Steel Dust Crafting"=true
  7. I can't seem to find a way to generate electricity without access to steel (coal generator needs motor which needs steel, solar generator needs platinum dust), but steel can only be created by the metallurgic infuser, which needs electricity. I've checked, but the iron + 4 coal recipe is disabled in both version 1.0.5 and 1.0.6. Obviously, I'm missing something, because I'd expect everybody to be complaining if this modpack can't even be played legitimately. So what am I missing?
