  1. yep, your problem is running the minecraft_server.jar file; you need to run the Tekkit.jar file

    I tried doing that as well and although it generated a dimensional portal (no door, just the stone structure) nothing else was generated. All I saw were dirt blocks in places where oil supposedly would have been. The ores weren't there either. I will download the file again and start from the Tekkit.jar file alone from the beginning.

    *EDIT/UPDATE*

    Downloaded the server zip and launched the Tekkit.jar file. Success! Everything is there. Thanks for that! I will post on here again if anything weird occurs.

    was the world created before or after you went to tekkit? the main world on my server was created back when I ran a bukkit only server, so it had no special tekkit ores what so ever. I ended up picking up the town in mcedit regereneating the map with tekkit running and they it got all the ores and I dropped the town back in its original location

    After I went to Tekkit. This was a fresh start for me so I had no previous worlds generated.

  2. Hello, it has been a while since I have visited the forum and I do not know what to mark this thread as a big or something so if an admin sees this thread as a mispost then please redirect this accordingly.

    Now to the topic of the thread. I have recently started to play Tekkit again and would like to start a server. With the launcher already on my desktop I went ahead to the page to download the Tekkit 1.1.10 server. After downloading I extracted the files to a separate folder and then started the server by launching the minecraft_server .jar file. I proceeded with launching Tekkit Main and setting my multiplayer settings for launch. *Launch* Server seems fine, nothing out of place yet until I decide to do a creative mode fly by. I then noticed that there are absolutely no added mod ores, no brown or black oil, no rubber trees, etc... (everything is there in singelplayer) I do not understand why. I went to research the topic in the forum and stumbled upon this thread http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/fix-is-your-server-crashing-when-launching-it.52878/ but unfortunately it did not help :/

    Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug? Has anyone else had this problem?

  3. So I have stumbled across something weird today when I updated to the new launcher and everything. Apparently if I create a world in SP and want to delete it it will not allow me to do so until I exit the launcher, log back in and start the game again. I do not know what this is at all, anyone else have this issue?

  4. Wow. This is post doesn't make sense. Look it had just came out. Coding is a very hard thing to do ok? If you want all the mods now then go program them yourself! Because unlike you. The creators of the mods actually have a life.

    Before you decide to formulate a statement with that inattentive brain of yours make sure you read the whole thread and see what is going on, especially from the authors perspective. If you actually read what my replies were then you would know that I was correlating the updating process of Classic with Lite and was therefore curious if it would ever be [updated]. The last thing I need is a twelve year old telling me to get a life so think twice before you type next time.

  5. Being a developer I know how annoying it is to have people constantly asking for an ETA. However I am happy to tell them what I know e.g. "I have to do x before I can look at y and then it should be close to finished so maybe in z days, but could be even up to zzz days if it doesn't go smoothly"

    It would be nice to just know where they stand with everything, feel free to shout at me now.

    I will not shout because this makes perfect sense and it is enough of an explanation to be honest, I can assume the values of x and y if anything haha :P

    I was just correlating Classic to Lite and was wondering if it will end up the same way.

  6. Okay, it seems that I did break one of the rules before posting which is expecting an ETA but that is only 1/2 of my question so I do apologize for that. Now I am not demanding it be updated for those of you that rudely seemed to assume so (then again you may have interpreted my question in an odd fashion) and also I clearly stated "if" it will be even updated, considering (if I remember correctly) that Tekkit Classic has been on 1.2.5 this whole time (but then again I haven't played Tekkit Classic in a while...).

    Hello everyone!

    I am looking to join a small, mature (18+) group of gentlemen to venture forth and explore the world of Tekkit (preferably Lite), as well as bask in the fruitful bounty of infinite human ingenuity.

    I am 18 years old, prefer to socialize with the more mature group, do not fancy griefing or pvp at all, do fancy friendly competition (as seen on Tekkit with Duncan: Magicians vs. Scientists), have some experience in tekkit but still fairly new to the mod (I have built a macerator and a geothermal generator, that's about it), don't mind cursing as long as it doesn't go overboard, and overall want to enjoy this great mod with other because playing by ones self can get a bit bland...alright, lonely, there I said it XD

    Ever watched Yogscast? That is what I am looking for! Just a fun group of people that can exchange laughs and have a great time!

  8. Check the BuildCraft 3 wiki. It specifically states that redstone engines no longer connect to conductive wooden pipes with a statement directly after that they cannot be used to generate power that way.

    Ahh, that I have not looked at yet! Well that's a bummer :/ In the end I guess it can be OP, slow...but OP. Thank you for the post!

  9. It's in some update notes that they'll no longer produce power into wood conductive pipes.

    But you could simply do something similar like you mentioned in your first post but using these newish items the pneumatic generators.

    My setup for some simple free power is redstone engines pumping directly into a "LV Pneumatic Generator" which takes in MJ and outputs EU, so from there you can plop your batbox next to it on the side that lacks a redstone engine, or you can cable it out.

    It's not so bad of a change. I enjoy anything that makes what used to be easier or more difficult, more hard to do. Now instead of being able to easily make huge arrays of these redstone engines going into pipes, you at least need to craft a pneumatic generator for each set of redstone engines. So you can do the same stuff, just takes more crafting resources.

    Ahh I see, tried it out and it works perfect! :) On the other hand I am in fact a fan of having large arrays of engines haha. I had this setup I wanted to try out and when I saw that redstone engines don't work with pipes anymore I died a little on the inside :/ But this will do I guess. Do you think they will allow for engines to work with conductive pipes again?

  10. Conductive pipes don't work on Redstone Engines, they just don't.

    Are you simply stating the issue at hand or are you saying that they "just don't work" because they are inefficient at producing EU? If it is the issue at hand then my question to you is why they no longer work when in the past they did? I mean it is an engine of some sort therefore it should be able to produce power right? If not then it shouldn't be called an engine anymore since they only thing it can do now is allow items to travel through pipes, that would be called a pump I believe?

  11. Hello chaps, so I was in the process of experimentation and tried to see if a redstone engine could generate EU via conductive pipes (considering other engines do) but sadly nothing happened. So I searched Google on the idea and found some videos of people actually having success with the system (redstone engine, conductive pipes, LV gen., batbox), this in turn has left me a bit confused. Do redstone engines no longer conduct EU?

  12. Hey bro's/broettes, so I started a new server for tekkit lite and believe to have encountered maybe a bug of some sorts. Now, in my previous servers and times playing tekkit lite I have never encountered something like this: when I first place down my machines (in this case I have a macerator, geothermal generator, and an extractor) they face in their normal directions but after I diconnect, change a texture pack, or even leave to mine and return they seem to have switched their facing positions...Here is a photo of the problem. Any ideas?

  13. Hey guys, i just updated from my tekkit launcher for the new spoutcraft update. In doing so however, it seems that I cannot start my server because it says I have numerous mods missing. I checked my folders and the ones that it stated are missing are actually there (from what I can see). I'm stumped. Am I supposed to physically update some mods or something?

    Here is a list of the mods apparently "missing":

  14. As for compressing coal into diamonds, you can do that with Industrial Craft.

    Industrialcraft has that. Coal dust+flint->coal ball->compressed coal ball+obsidian-compress> diamond

    Alright well you learn something new everyday, especially with tekkit haha; I will definitely be building a few of those machines :D

    Also, ee3 is in alpha. Condensers and emc will be back,

    Really? Do you know for sure?

    I might as well add that you could build a device to emulate the function of a condenser, if you're willing to go through setting up the autocrafting tables and whatnot.

    I am guessing that this is a somewhat lengthy process?

  15. Use the minium stone. You can turn cobble into diamonds, through a process

    You can still transmute things into diamonds, you just have to be a little bit more involved in the process rather than "Stick a bunch of stuff in a chest and diamonds!!!".

    Hint: Try crafting a minium stone.

    Ahh okay, this is the first time I have heard of the minium stone; interesting, so there still is transmutation in Tekkit lite then. Do you think this will be as far as they go in EE3 (it is still in development from what I have heard) with transmutation? or will they include something other than transmutation to do a similar process? I was thinking of something along the lines of turning coal into diamond; it is a natural process that happens in real life as we all know (although it takes ages haha), but maybe a machine that can compress under high pressure coal into diamonds?

  16. Hey guys, just wanted to start a little discussion involving the energy condenser and diamonds.

    So in Tekkit when you reach the later stages of developing more complex things some of them require lots of diamond i.e. gears, assembly tables, diamond shards, EV pneumatic generators, crystal chests (yes I know, pointless but awesome :D), etc...anyways, as you may know that requires a lot of diamond and in EE2 it seems that was not an issue due to the energy condenser. Now I know that the energy condenser is OP and I am all for mining out my materials the old fashioned way, however, how will we be able to find all this diamond to make all this advanced gear? We all know finding diamond can be a tedious process at most and your findings may yield either a multitude or at least 1-2. So with the creation of EE3 and the exile of energy condensers, collecters, etc...do you think this will hinder the later stages of crafting more complex machinery and materials? Do you think the process will be balanced? If so, how?

  17. Hello there, so I have been using a texture pack that I like a lot but some of the textures to certain machines are not textured. From what I have heard, the creator of the texture pack does not do mod support :/ So I decided to start creating those textures in his own style...the problem is that I do not know how to actually edit a texture pack. Could anybody give me any instructions on how to do so? Also, these are textures for Tekkit Lite specifically.
