  1. That was it! Thanks.. I never would have figured that out...
  2. Nope.. I've tried empty carts, chest carts, and player-filled carts, all show identical behavior.
  3. So i've bulid a giant railway connecting my home to the end portal. It's entirely out of normal Rails & powered rails. Everything worked fine for a day or two, but now the entire track is acting like unpowered powered rail: Carts roll half a tile and then stop. Even on regular rail if I just push them they only bounce about half a block and stop. I tried restarting the server, and nothing changed. Ideas?
  4. eeh.. I hate to go through all that.. I already have a 24-electric furnace power station built powering up 3 MSFU's (one for a Teleporter, one for a Mass Fab, and another just for general storage). Looks like the "Energy Link" ( http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/119361-125-tehkrushs-mods-timber-updated/#mfr ) may do it.. Plus, it will run directly on HV. I wonder how much BC power you can get on a single HV Energy Link? Update: So, looking at the thread. If the conversion ratio is the default 2/5th, and I'm pumping 512EU/t HV into it.. that would be 200MJ/t BC Power.. Yikes... Am I right in that's equivalent to 100 Electric Engines?
  5. I have a few quarries running on Electric Engines, but with FOrestry going away I thought it would be good to go ahead and start converting them. Does anyone know of some combination of engines/machines to let you power a Quarry with Electricity, aside from their Electric Engines? Seems there might be a cumbersome but functional way using the Power Converter stuff..
  6. Well, from what I've seen so far the ChunkLoader block seems to work for everything RedPower/IC2/BC related, but not for anything rail related... Initial impressions look good from the test of ForeverALoad (although I had to manually "register" the chunks I want to load.. they let you do it WorldEdit-style with a Bone and mark a giant region). I'll update when I know more.
  7. Aww.. I'll miss my Peat Engines & Wheat Farms... but if the dev's being a PITA, good riddance.
  8. So I've got lots of Equivalent Exchange systems, Nuclear & Coal Generator systems, machines, etc.. ANd they all work great with the purple "ChunkLoader Block", which I've scattered around (Thank god for REI's MiniMap chunk boundary lines). However, it seems these ChunkLoader blocks don't work with Rail.. I've been using a Tunnel Bore to dig a 1km tunnel to where I found the Ender Portal, but it refuses to do anything unless I babysit it. Same thing for chest carts I shoot down the rail, once they go just a bit out of sight they seem to unload. Today, I loaded up the ForeverALoad plugin (has't been running long enough to know if it's had any real effect).. And I've heard about the MinecartPermanence plugin, but didn't know if it would work for the RailCraft carts like the Bore.. Is there any "official" recommendation on how to get these to load? Or should it just be working and I've done something wrong? P.S. Chuck.. Chunk.. yeah, I know...
  9. Alright.. I thought as much.. Thanks for the confirmation!
  10. I'm running Tekkit 2.1, latest client, and I'm trying to get up speed on Railcraft. I've got a nice Tunnel Bore running, and I'm trying to hook up a chest cart to it to pick up what it mines & keep fueling it a bit longer than usual. However, every time I right click on the Bore or the Cart I get their inventory and they never seem to actually link. Is cart linking supposed to work? In a version later than what's in Tekkit? Or is there a trick I'm missing..
  11. Your problem #2, that's kinda normal for Nether Portals. All portals created in the real-world connect to the first created portal's Nether-pair, and the return trip through that portal will always take you to the first real-world portal created. There are, however, some bukkit plugins to make it work more as expected.
