  1. Its a good thing you guys do such great work, it makes putting up with the fact yer mostly a bunch of asshat prima donnas that much easier. : ] I will pick out the green M&M's for you any day of the week! *edit* I shit you not it had dumped stuff in there, it had a mods folder and some red power stuff and config files. I thought there was no freakin way it could write to that folder either, but that has been an unmodded and clean .minecraft since over 2 months ago. It was still in my recycle bin here is the contents: folders= bin/buildcraft/config/mods/redpower/resources/saves/texturepacks Files=airship.properties/options.txt/wirelessRedstone.properties
  2. Perhaps you need to read my first post and then skip over the others and read this last post. I had a 64 bit Java installed when I first had problems after downloading and using the 0.2 launcher. One of the first things I did after the launcher.... didn't do squat, was go SERCH the forums for a fix, this serch gave me the impression I now needed Java 7.2 or 7.3 for the launcher to run properly. Following this advise Bjorke'd my .technicssp and also my .minecraft as well as breaking my Java association with .Jar files. After UNINSTALLING all Java on my computer and everything minecraft related the auto-detect and installer at the Java site installed a 32 Bit version without me knowing it was a 32 bit version, on checking version after my vanilla Minecraft... didn't do squat, I discovered this flaw and installed the 64 bit version over top of what had AUTOMATICALLY been installed by the auto-detect and install Java software.
  3. Erm.... ok So I figgured out the problem after 2 days of looking. After the launcher went to 0.2 and did not work I went looking on these forums and found people suggesting to download Java 7.2 and 7.3 This is what broke the Java associations with the .Jar files After all these wierd nonfeasance Launcher starts it had somehow dropped some parts of Technic into my normal .minecraft folder as well. The .exe Vanilla minecraft would not work on this corrupted folder either and everything was wonky. The cure was I deleted all .minecraft and .technicssp also desktop links and anything related to minecraft as well as using controll panel to remove all Java from my computer. Did a fresh download of minecraft and followed the links at minecraft.com to the proper versions of Java to be using http://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/articles/325960-how-do-i-run-the-game-on-my-computer- 6.31 After this it still did not work so with furthur looking under Windows 7 control panel / by clicking the Green text "Programs" over the smaller font blue text "Uninstall a program" I discovered that the Java installed was a 32 bit version. Going back to the Java download page I downloaded the 64 bit version and installed that as well. Now I ran vanilla minecraft and everything installed and updated correctly, then the new Technic lancher and it all worked fine. Hope this helps anyone who has been having problems with the new launcher as I was.
  4. Re: Launcher fail Using current version in above situation. My subject line has been modified the word I used was Failure as in: omission of occurrence or performance; specifically: a failing to perform a duty or expected action <failure to install Technicpac properly> The rules specify the non use of the internet slang "Fail" and "Win" in non coherent Uber L33t babble, and I do not think that my use of Failure in its proper context or meaning violates the rules as laid out by you. If it’s a problem I will use nonfeasance in future reference to the occurrence of failure. As in the Technic Launcher is still in a state of nonfeasance for me at the moment, as described in my first post.
  5. Ok so I deleted the launcher and all the Technic folder in the %appdata% spot after pulling out my saved worlds so I could reinstall (has been the only way to switch back from the no opti-fine version back to recommended build for me) But this time the launcher fails, it starts and checks version, downloads all of the Jar file and creates new technic folder in appdata... then I get a brief glimpse of the circle "Loading" gif in the center of my desktop and... nothing. The Techniclauncher Jar file is there in the appdata technic folder and has proper Java association, I uninstalled and reinstalled Java and tried again from scratch same thing, even downloading the "Mac" version of the Jar and using it does same thing... Am at a loss
  6. I am wondering about our world saves, will the launcher be able to update our worlds if for whatever reason they need to be changed to work with an updated Mod?
  7. I had only one minor problem on install, after the first time the launcher ran and got to the point that minecraft was about to open it crapped the bed and crashed. On restart is worked fine and hasn't had a problem since, was just after the first install, sry wish I had kept the error log for you. Quick question on what will happen as the mods in Technic are updated by their respective creators, will the launcher be updating each mod as it happens (or shortly after)? Again thank you for all the outstanding work your team has put into this!
