Any other suggestions? I tried running all the technic launcher packs, same issue so it's not just my mods. Also tried playing with only FML installed and I still drop 30 FPS everytime I play even when on singleplayer.

Alright just tried that, same issue.

Ok just tried lowering the ram to 2G, problem still persists. Also, when first loading the world or first traveling to a age via mystcraft, the world loads very smooth and quickly, but after 2 minutes or so I'm back down to 15 FPS.

A few days ago I purchased a new Toshiba Laptop (Specs below) and the technic launcher or just minecraft with mods put into it run very slowly. Vanilla Minecraft works very well with the maximum graphic and gameplay settings on and runs with about 60 FPS, but when I attempt to play Tekkit Lite or my own modpack, my FPS goes up and down from 25 to 18 to 9. My computer is fully updated, 4G of RAM is allocated to the technic launcher, and I never run anything else in the background. Is there a specific reason why I can't run well with mods? Please Help. The same is happening to me when I try to play on custom mod packs, not sure what the issue is, but the website for the Technic Platform itself seems a bit slow and unstable( I have visited over 50 other websites, none run slow.) I hope the awesome Technic team gets this fixed asap!

Kirby put it perfectly. On a side note, it's awesome you play tekkit with your kids! Wish my parents had it lol.
