  1. I was considering creating a Voltz server with clearly defined teams and moderated warfare. I have a computer to do it, but i'm not sure whether or not it would work the way I intend, or if there would be adequate interest. I simply need opinions and/or thoughts from the community. The main idea that would set this server apart is the team structure and terms of war. My idea is to have assigned teams, picked by the players, like a game of middle-school dodgeball. An area is then designated for a spawn/safe-zone, and the teams are set out to wage war. The game is monitored and terms are decided beforehand, which would require cooperation and communication between the host and the players out-of-game, via email or forum-mail. Once a definite winner (one of the teams) is established, the world can be reset, or the game-area can be moved. Maybe the winning team could receive a point, a we play to 5. Variations could include bases pre-made by the host and admins, and objects scattered around the map. Or the teams could be given a stock of resources to begin with. The main problem is the amount of cooperation required between players and host. the players would also have to be fully committed to the game, and would have to go through conclusive interviews to ensure that they are really committed. I would also need reliable staff, and a well designed server. I'm not sure that it's worth the trouble it would take, and I'm also not sure how many people would be willing to join. I need opinions on this idea and other comments in general. I will accept any type of criticism, even if you think that it's a horrible idea. I just need feedback. Thanks
  2. 16 US-EST I have played voltz since it was released, however i'm by no means proficient. I would give myself a 3-4 out of 10, on a rating scale of voltz knowledge and ability. I enjoy playing in teams, and the idea of warring sides. I work well in a team, as long as the team is unified in their goal of creaming the opposing side. I believe that I understand the difference. T1 and T2 bomb during gentlemanly warfare = okay. Drawing giant penises in the floor of your enemy's house after you have raided it, and then ruthlessly antagonizing him with alliances that are completely fake = not okay. IGN: Prototype9179
  3. Uh... server insists that I am not white-listed. Is is case sensitive? If so, the first letter of my IGN is lowercase, not uppercase.
  4. I'm sorry, but I don't have a skype account and have neither a mic nor a camera. Would you be willing to converse with text via email ([email protected]) or by in-game chat? Thanks for responding with punctuality. that doesn't happen very often, i've noticed.
  5. IGN: Prototype9179 Voltz Skill (1-10): 3-5 How long have you played voltz?: since it was released Could You Donate: maybe Sounds like a great server, if the host could make organized wars or assist in setting up teams that would be awesome. If that could happen I would absolutely consider donating and helping out in any way possible.
  6. Name: Edward (IGN: Prototype9179) Age: 16 How long: I have been playing voltz since its release, took a break about a month ago, but I hope to get back into it. I'm definitely not a pro but i'm not an amature either. Play style: Team based, hopefully the team is cooperative and functional. I like nothing better than creaming an enemy through efficient and well orchestrated team-work. Why: I have been looking for a server where players are cooperative and reliable, where teams can depend on their members to work towards achieving a common goal. I haven't found this kind of atmosphere in any other server that i've visited, but my hope is that this server will turn out to be the unified and enjoyable server that i've been looking for. Play-times: Most weekday afternoons and occasionally on saturday for an extended period of time. Afternote: Though I understand the strict rules regarding griefing, raiding or destroying the bases of an enemy team, I would request that the host may lower these restrictions to accommodate warfare. if you're in a war, you would expect that there is a risk of having your base destroyed, which is part of the fun of constructing it in the first place, from picking a spot that is hard to find, to defending it with traps and weapons. Raiding is also a big part of it, and will encourage teams to defend their bases more vigilantly and with more innovative constructions. I was also wondering if the host was planning on organizing teams, or if every man has to fend for himself against the other players and possibly against his "allies". Thank you.
  7. Mine's the same as my profile name here: Prototype9179 Add me for a good game of TF2, Portal 2, Minecraft (almost any modpack), and any other game out of the short list of those that I happen to own.
  8. Ok, took your advice, deleted the TreeCapitator.jar file, and tried to increase ram usage, however my Launch.bat file simply says: "java -Xmx3G -Xms2G -jar TekkitLite.jar nogui pause", so I didnt touch anything. Booted up the server again, got the same error, reread the command console and found this: "[sEVERE] [ForgeModLoader] Something real bad happened! The CraftAPI will not be runningfor this Minecraft session". Then it tells me to report this bug to the developers, which is what I plan to do. Im still at a loss of what to do. Should I just use Bukkit instead, or another pluggin manager? Thanks
  9. Ok, so I have gone and booted up the server, replacing the original TekkitLite.jar file with the new one I downloaded from MCPC+, and using the original launch.bat file to start the server. However, when I do this, the server doesn't allow me to join, error: patience, "my young padawan! Bukkitforge is still loading." Ive tried waiting, but the same error pops up every time. I think it may have something to do with the server lines that read: "[TreeCapitator] Block id <various id like forestry.log2 or forestry.leaves> could not be parsed as an integer. Ignoring entry." There are several dozen of these lines followed by [Warning] lines. Any ideas? Thanks
  10. First, I wanted to thank you, lulz, for responding . I was becoming a little disheartened yesterday. So, per your directions, I redownloaded the tekkit files, and created the necessary files by running the launch.bat file. I then downloaded the MCPC+ file and installed it using the instructions I found here, although when the process was over I deleted the second launch.bat file. Im not sure if this is the correct way to do it. It did generate the new files, but was I supposed to merge the server launcher with this new launcher that I created? I also downloaded notepad++, and am able to open all notepad files with it. Thanks
