I just answered my own question. It's a lighting issue in minecraft concerning blocks that are not considered full size by the engine. Smooth lighting fixed it...

Lately I have been having problems placing redpower items such as panels and furnaces inside my house and it not having the same light level as everything else. Anyone know why?

I get a blank screen after I update with a yes or no on it. I assume its asking if I want to update the map? Can someone post on here what it says.
