I am using neither. I am using AVG. Thanks but how do I go about checking my firewall settings

whenever I try to load voltz or any other modpack from the technic launcher this message appears: "Error retrieving information for selected pack: voltz. I have installed the most recent java update. Re-installed it. I can find anything that works! Can you help me!
