  1. The auto-save feature is a config thing, I know little about server configs. Is your server a 'paid' for one, hosted by a tekkit server site?

No, I own the server myself through my public IP address, so I have control of every file. So my question now is, which config file were you looking at and how did you find it?

  2. ok im really confused. everyone is posting there own patchs, None will work for me (including the authors one) i always get Unable to load plugins. What does that mean.

I used weiredbeard's patch file, it seems to be the one that provides as many fixes as possible. As for your plugins issue: unpack Midas into its own folder separate from anything else; now you should have a folder containing Midas and everything that goes with it(including the plugins folder). Now ductape66 had said you would have 6 total plugins, I believe I only had 4 to start with plus the 1 from havocx42 titled "TekkitLiteBCConverter.jar" making a total of 5 plugins. So if you only have a total of 5 like me, don't worry you should be fine. Any questions on the actual process of bringing the new converted worlds into the tekkit lite folder; I'm sure weirdbeard or ductape or even myself would be able to answer those too, so feel free to ask :)

  3. I have a similar problem with my main Tekkit world. Every time the lag hits FPS goes down to 1 or 2. I just have to wait it out for a few seconds and then the lag goes away.

I too have a blaze rod machine (not sure if relevant).

I use the 64x Sphax addon patch. I used to use 128x but got the "Minecraft has run out of memory" message. I allocate 2GB of RAM (have a total of 4GB). I've tried setting it to 3GB which solved the memory issue but I then had massive lag with the 128x textures, plus I wasn't sure it was wise to allocate 75% of all available RAM to Tekkit.

I once thought that it could've been the auto save which I set to every 20s. Did not notice an immediate difference when changing to 3min but I haven't explored changing this enough to rule this out as the cause.

Interestingly though, I've recently created a new Tekkit Lite world just so I could explore all the new stuff and try out a texture pack (128x) and I started getting lag spikes. Cant tell you how often or if the lag was repetitive but i defiantly had more than one spike interrupt me. I hadn't build anything in this world either, all I did was scroll through NEI and place blocks to look at GUIs etc. Also did a bit of flying around and it lagged then, but it was thinking it was just the world generation as I was flying over unloaded parts at some points.

How did you modify the auto save on the server? I've been trying to figure this out as I'm getting spamed with "[sIDEOUT] saving" what seems like every 5 seconds. I've lowered my graphics but this seems to be the main cause as it lags every time it auto saves.

  4. Yeah so weirdly the Tekkit Classic server replaces that "id" field with teleportPipe for every pipe, why? I don't know but the solution is like you said; replace teleportPipe with the correct string. It's only the server version that does this so you get the same problem if you try and open multiplayer worlds in singleplayer and that's why it was working for me( I was only testing on singleplayer).

I'm really happy cos this is a perfect use for the plugin functionality I wrote in the last version. Here is a plugin to fix this: Download

Just pop it in the plugins directory in midas and do your conversion, it's hardcoded to fix this error so no mapping is needed, and remove it afterwards.

You might have seen I"ve had success using your and weirdbeard's method. However, every 5-10 seconds I get "[sIDEOUT] saving" which I know means the server is auto-saving. I cannot tell what mod/plugin or config file is making the server auto-save, but every time it does, the server lags tremendously because of the save rate. Any idea what file configures the auto-save so I may change the timing or completely disable it?

P.S. Just an update for anyone doing this now with the lattest version of Tekkit Lite, this still works using the plugin provided by havocx42 and patch.txt weirdbeard has attached.

  5. Ok, sounds about right. To make things clearer, I converted the worlds then dragged them into the Tekkit Lite folder. Then started the server. I then stopped the server and configured the worlds again with the plugin AFTER they had already been used with the server. Maybe this could be a key issue? I'll try the entire process over again, this time converting the files with the plugin the FIRST time. Also, I have other files not associated with midas in the same directory as midas; this could be an issue to? I'll create a directory specifically for midas. I'll let you know how things go. Oh, and once more, any idea with the "ForgeModLoader-server-0" file re-creating/duplicating problem?

Success! It works! My amazing factory and Huge, and yes I do mean huge, are back in business! Only downside are my collector arrays, but I'll find a way to do without them.

  6. This is definitely what was happening with me before Havoc42 added the pipe fix plugin. Make sure you place the plugin in the plugins folder underneath the midas tool. (Not in Minecraft's plugin directory. It is not a game plugin- just a plugin for the midas tool.) It sounds like that plugin isn't running for some reason. I did encounter problems with the midas tool not being able to find the plugins early on. It had to do with being in the right working directory and directory context when running the command. If you run the midas jar from the command line and are running it from within the directory that the midas jar is in and you have the plugin in the plugins folder that is in the same directory as the midas jar, you should be good to go. Hopefully, you have only one of these pieces missing from your process and the fix is easy. :)

  7. Super-success!!! :D Thanks very much! That did the trick. All pipes seem to have converted flawlessly and are working. It looks like everything in my world has translated at last. Wise choice on the modular design, by the way!

Thank you both for your efforts and investigations. Tekkit Lite, here we come! :P

I've been able to update my server, however I'm still getting these invisivle pipes? I've done everything you did when it came to your process of patching the world saves and running the server. Then I tried Havocx42's plugin also, and still invisible pipes. I get "Pipe failed to load from NBT...detected pipe with unknown key <-1>" in the console. Also, my server keeps re-creating the "ForgeModLoader-server-0" file every time I start the server, replacing the "0" with a "1, 2, etc...".
