1) make modpack as usual. Notice: there is no coremods folder anymore and Optifine goes into mods directory, not jar. 2) copy Forge json file from version corresponding to your mod Forge to your modpack "bin" directory and rename it to version.json (you can find it by installing that version on official launcher and digging into \.minecraft\versions\ directory (source: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/dealing-with-versions-folder-in-1-6.52838/#post-436640 ) 3) remember to update version number on technic platform and don't forget there is URL change, at least in beta builds of Technic launcher (eg. http://www.technicpack.net/apiv2/modpack/NAMEOFTHEPACK ) 4) tell your friends about change of URL and use of beta launcher. Notice: for some reason I had "bad login" errors on beta launcher. Migrating from minecraft.net to Mojang account helped (lol?)

Do you run on Mac by any chance? Have you tried this? http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/mac-os-x-nothing-starts-up-temporary-launcher-fix.49661/ I don't know about Macs, try updating OpenAL32 and/or lwjgl?

Two files in technic\universalelectricity-ultimate\ : 1) ForgeModLoader-client-0.log 2) output-client.log I might not look into it today but I bet someone else will. :')

The modpack works for me. Tick "Tncrease PermGen size" option and set 1GB of memory in Technic Launcher (gear icon in upper right corner, next to "close" button).

So steps for creating a 1.6.x pack are basically the same as for earlier versions, nice. I believe there is no more "coremods" folder use in 1.6.x (all mods go to "mods" directory)?

You can't use the latest version of forestry because it's for 1.5.x Minecraft only. Either you find old enough version of Forestry (for 1.4.7, can't say which Forge version exactly) or switch almost a year old Minecraft and Tekkit Lite for something newer. Same goes for other mods.

Deleting all NEI plugins and addons for mods would be fast and lazy fix, probably.
