Enozer

I've been playing on the Technic Launcher, and for whatever reason, the equivalent exchange recipes with the philosopher's stone and cobblestone, dirt, etc. haven't been working. I can make gold bars from iron, and diamonds from gold bars; and I can make alchemical coal, but I can't make anything else. Is there any reason for this? I'm playing on Mac OS X Version 10.6.8.
