i am using the latest version on my windows 8 dell inspiron and fml says doing tasks, not making world

Hello! I have tried several mods with the new technic layout,( magic recipe book, This is War! etc.) yet they always close due to some sort of file missing, which i just downloaded the modpack. This is War! however worked somewhat, because it said that FML was making the world. I waited an hour, yet FML was still stuck at 0%. I even tried this with tekkit lite since i thought it was just the modpacks which it wasn't PLEASE HELP ME!
