I used a host, didn't like the link I guess, lets see if this works better.

They were dimensional doors. I screen capped the "tube" though. There was a chest under the bottom spawner. Also the tube did not go to bed rock.

The 2 pillar structure I have seen all over, usually on a 4X4 platform of stone, cut stone, or stone brick

I have seen a few odd generated structures in Big Dig. One is a big (maybe 10 across?) obsidian tube leading down to near bedrock that has 3-4 mob spawners floating in it. Another is 2 pillar stone brick structure. Any ideas what these are? Seen any odd structures? I'll post some screen caps later on if anyone wants to see what I am talking about.
