technic launcher only downloads the .jar

i found a workaround for this. If you are using 64 bit windows and have the same problem download the 32 bit java and then open the .jar with it. -
I run windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with the correct java installed. When i launch the launcher it only downloads tekkitlauncher.jar thats it, it doesn't do anything else. Now how do i get to play tekkit?
