tekkit loads but insta shut down after

well tekkit loads for a few minutes before suddenly poping out onto the menu for a split second and shutting down without any form of error/notice. If anybody has half a clue at whats going on please help.

well I need to use version 0.6.1 and can't for some reason. actually I can't use any version other then the recommended, the latest, and 0.5.9 because it will revert any version I manually select to 0.5.9 for some reason.
