i host the server n im using hamachi to do it n he always lags when he join my server

my friend keep disconnecting from my server it says internal exception:java.net.socketTimeoutException:read timed out when he disconnects. it happen for 2 days now it was fine before. i downgrade minecraft to 1.2.3 to make hack/mine server maybe thats why my friend is disconnecting HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when u open the technic launcher and u can choose technic, tekkit, yog box, voxel modpack and vanilla and i want to know whats all of them do
