When I am trying to make something automated in a compact space, I generally leave a 2x1 hallway to access it, and in some of the builds I have used, not being able to walk through your wires would have meant having to make the whole assembly bigger. Also, wall wires go wherever the wall goes, and you could run them on panels to get them anywhere a wall wasnt, so they could actually connect in any direction you wanted them to.(admittedly requiring more wires, but I think you crafted them in lots of 16, so it really didn't matter)

Oh, I actually looked at the Cyclical assembler, but I assumed it was roughly equivalent to the auto crafting table. It looks like it requires power to function tho, and I am guessing its not one of the items you can power with redstone engines since they can't seem to be used to power any other TE machines. Bleh, I may have to go back to one of the older mod packs, because I still hate buildcraft, and just about everything in tekkit seems to revolve around buildcraft functionality. OOH, I hadn't noticed those, I will have to look into them, thank you! EDIT: this is directed @ Canvox's reply to my previous post.

Is there a crafting table that allows me to save a pattern, say a piston on a sheet of paper for example, that allows me to craft said piston out of the inventory for the table(or my own inventory for that matter), with a single click? Yeah, i guess the sorters have a replacement, I just miss having an awesome looking warehouse that you could walk into and see all the stuff traveling to their chests. Silly self contained computer of storage just isnt as cool IMO. If there is a replacement for the redstone wires, I couldn't find them... EDIT: I also found the new changes to the redstone engine extremely annoying, you can't use them to power anything except maybe a pump. Cant use them on a powered furnace or a pulverizer either.

So, I spent 4 days trying to enjoy buildcraft, and I return UN-successful. Oh how I miss the project table.... and the RP2 sorters... and redstone wiring... I am finding that while I still miss IC2, I am missing the functionality that RP2 added so much more. There is almost nothing to do in the new tekkit once you build your powersuit with the materials from your quarry. Space is cool for about 5-10 minutes, but it gets old fast because it isnt fully developed yet.

Which is usually unstable, and you probably couldnt leave it running without supervision lest part of it, or your chest, drop out of the world... Do you know how to make a dense ores age stable? This requires you to excavate that area first to put the quarry instead of being able to set it up simply, and leave it to run. Assume that I am unwilling to spend the set up time on that.

ok, next question, I also dislike how the quarry destroys the landscape, and preferred how the IC2 miner functioned by just going after ores, what mod replaces this functionality?

Because designing and building the reactor and associated powerplant was one of my favorite parts, and if you are going to have space travel, you really should need lots of power do it...

Those may have been added by TE, but they are still buildcraft engines... The lack of a high energy reactor, be it nuclear or fusion or another type of advanced power generation makes this new tekkit a pointless update IMHO...

Yeah, I was just looking at AE, but it looks like the only power generation system in tekkit now is buildcraft... Is there a way to go about generating power without resorting to buildcraft? EDIT: wait... this means no nuclear reactors in the new version either...

I also used primarily RP2 and IC2 due to the fact that I hate buildcraft...(with a vengeance) So... what mods are replacing RP2's sorting and inventory management and tube system?
