So I got it to work. As embarrassing as it seems, I just had to run it as administrator... sorry for the huge waste of time guys.

Explain that please, what is port map?

My router is a sagemCOM f@st 1740n, and by special, I mean that there technically is no port forwarding, it's just called virtual servers. The only things you set are external port start and end, protocol, and ip address. I've only tried to host gm and minecraft servers. Yes, I've tried the garry's mod ports (3478, 4379, and 27000), and they come up as closed on port checker websites, which has to be wrong, else my gm server would never have worked in the first place.

The vanilla MC server doesn't work either...

The tricky bit about those port checker websites is that they don't work for me for some reason. Regardless of the port I enter, it'll come up as closed, so they don't really end up helping. I'll let you know if the regular mc server works as soon as I get someone to try.

25565 to both. My router is a little special, so you'll just have to take my word that it should be working, since I have a functioning Garry's Mod server, and the only difference between the settings for my tekkit server and gm server is the actual port.

So I'm completely out of ideas as of what's wrong. i can connect to my server locally just fine, but no one else can reach my server. I've done everything in my power to make sure it's not the ports, I've spent days searching the internet to look for answers, but I've found nothing. someone please help, just ask for whatever extra information you need, I'll provide.

I just had this same problem. Your firewall is blocking the link to secret rooms (when i typed the link into the URL, my internet security was blocking the link). you have to type the link into the URL, and manually allow the link, then it will download fine.
