There are lots of IC2 tutorials out there. Look around. You will need to know stuff like this when you go to actually build up your electrical grid, instead of spawning in HV Solars.

Try...the server sections of the board. There are lots of little servers, many with whitelists.

So, if someone makes a program that only runs well, or at all, on Windows 7, and you're stuck on Windows XP (which isn't supported except in the areas it overlaps with newer OSs), you would expect them to write a special version of their software just for you? Seems like you need to catch up with the modern computing world a bit.

Also, mining with frames where the blocks potentially explode is bad. Why is this thread here, in this section?

It's been described on this board countless times (as in, I can't be bothered to count them), and you either know or can figure out how to Google it. Don't be lazy.

There's a launcher properties file. That's what I was talking about. Memory allocation is the first thing in it. Edit it with Wordpad or something better - Notepad doesn't like the line breaks.

Technic doesn't need to update. You do.

Remove the -Xmx and -Xms parts of the batch file (edit it again).

AVG is almost guaranteed to be your problem. Learn to read the stickies.

Download the .jar version and run it with Java.

Disable/uninstall AVG - it sucks anyway. Install Microsoft's .NET Framework, probably 3.5 and 4, but you may need 2 as well.

Whatever McAfee may be, AVG is worse. I'd say lose it in favor of Avast! or MSE.

Everybody uses the Technic launcher. You need to check your version number, and not think "it should be updated." I suspect you're either stuck on Tekkit 2.1.1 for some reason, or using 3.0.5 or 3.1.0, which are dev. builds and won't work on a server.

Install new OptiFine Standard for MC1.2.5.

OP: New launcher. You need it.

Add Java 7's bin folder to your system path variable. Remove Java 6.

Go grab a new copy of the launcher. You shouldn't be getting a banner freeze unless something is stopping the launcher from running. Is 7u5 32-bit the only version of Java you have?
